-Muchos miran a los ojos en situaciones que les resultan familiares y en las que se sienten cómodos
– Pueden desenvolverse en entornos laborales y sociales con naturalidad cuando el entorno es favorable y conocido, como cualquier otro persona. Solo hemos de entender sus peculiaridades. Las investigaciones parecen indicar que en la medida que las habilidades sociales son mayores, las dificultades para el contacto visual son menos significativas.

3️⃣Cuando demande tu atención durante un tiempo continuado (por ejemplo cantando, jugando en el suelo, leyendo un cuento…) realiza pequeñas pausas y espera a que el niño realice contacto ocular contigo para retomar lo que estabas haciendo. De este modo, estaremos fomentando la “causa-efecto” y función del contacto ocular.
4️⃣Sitúa objetos, alimentos o juguetes de su interés cerca de tu cara cuando te los demande. Busca de forma natural que realice contacto ocular previamente. Es más fácil atraer su atención con algo que desea o que despierta su interés.
5️⃣Trabaja a menudo el “mírame” pero siempre y cuando tenga una utilidad (darle alguna indicación, un objeto, juguete, ayudarle en alguna tarea…) como menciono en el video de Youtube, buscamos la naturalidad e integración en todo momento, no tiene sentido hacer esta demanda continuamente y sin ninguna función.
6️⃣Refuerza socialmente el contacto ocular. No olvidemos que el refuerzo verbal también es un gran aliado. Felicítale cuando realice contacto ocular de forma natural o por petición. De este modo estaremos reforzando la comprensión y conducta operante.
